FED: Queensland and Tassie lead way in wooing Mardigras dollar

BRISBANE, Feb 23 AAP - Queensland and Tasmania have shed their conservative reputations
and opened their arms to the economic benefits of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

The four-week festival injects more than $100 million into the Sydney economy, but
after the mardi gras parade on March 4, almost half of the 6,000 international revellers
party on elsewhere in Australia.
